I looked out the windows to see if the lights on the bridge were on yet, but through the fog, I noticed this cross standing tall on the city skyline. I hadn't noticed it before. I even went back to look at some of the other photos I had taken to see if it was there.
It made me consider that sometimes we are literally blinded by all the distractions of the world and forget what and who is truly important. It is our Savior who is always our rock, the one we can always turn to, the one who never leaves us alone.
The words of this hymn come to mind: 'I think of His hands pierced and bleeding to pay the debt; Such mercy, such love and devotion can I forget? No, no, I will praise and adore at the mercy seat, Until at the glorified throne, I kneel at His feet. Oh, it is wonderful that He should care for me, Enough to die for me. Oh, it is wonderful, wonderful to me.'
May we always remember how blessed we are to have the love Jesus offers to us.
