2018 rolled into 2019 in such a blur! The holidays are always best when spent with those we love and in my case, it was wonderful that we were all in the same place at the same time. My resolution for the new year is the same, to continue to be grateful for my life and to continue living it to the fullest.
I can't believe that January is almost over! I came across this quote of Paul Allen which said "Our net worth is ultimately defined not by dollars but rather by how well we serve others." How true is that! When we leave this earth how do we want to be remembered?
I think that kindness is the most important character trait to have and that service to others is the highest human calling. The scriptures tell us that when we are in the service of our fellow beings that we are in the service of God. What legacy of our time here on earth will we leave behind? I would like mine to be kindness. I would like to be remembered for being kind and for the service I provided to others whether through being a friend, a listening ear or doing something to make their life easier or to bring some small joy to them on their journey.
We are all travelers, passing through, it takes very little effort to be kind to those around us and to help lighten their burdens.
