My story...
I am a cancer survivor and single mom to 2 wonderful young men. I love painting and now work mainly with acrylic on canvas.
I think that being at death's door and the journey with chemotherapy takes one away from the busyness of life and makes one more aware of the simple things in life. It makes one appreciate every moment, a beautiful sunrise, the sounds of the birds, pretty flowers and so much more...all of God's creations.
Post-therapy, with my hands shaking, I found comfort in art therapy, where I could use a very forgiving paint brush to create beautiful water colours expressing all my mixed up emotions at that time.
We never forget what brings us comfort and so as I continue on in my life's journey, I continue to paint as an expression of gratitude to the Divine for the opportunity of a second chance at life and living. I continue to find the beauty in the simple things in life.
